Cookie Policy

This site sets no cookies of its own for listeners, and none for advertising. It keeps a few settings in your browser, listed below, so that features such as resuming an episode work. The Buzzsprout, Apple Podcasts and YouTube players can set their own cookies, but they load only after you allow them. If you allow analytics, we also measure how the site is used with Google Analytics, as explained below.
What this site keeps in your browser
If you come back, the site picks up where you left off. The settings below stay in your browser. Apart from the two analytics codes, which exist only if you allow analytics, none of them is sent to us or anyone else. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them all, and the site then treats you as a first-time visitor.

Analytics, only if you allow it
If you allow analytics, our server tells Google Analytics which pages you view and what you use on them: links, players, filters and the copy-link button, and when you sign up for the Briefing, send the contact form or claim a GiveCard. Each event carries the two codes shown in the table above. It never includes your name, email address, anything you type or your IP address, and it tells Google not to use the data for advertising. Turning analytics off in Cookie settings stops this and deletes both codes from your browser. Reports already made are not erased. More detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Embedded players
Episodes and trailers on this site play from the services below. Nothing loads from them until you press play or allow players. If you have not allowed players, we ask first, and you can play once without changing your setting. Once you have allowed them, a trailer may start on its own, muted. When a player loads, that service receives your IP address and may set cookies, under its own privacy policy. Trailer stills are served from our own site, so showing them does not contact YouTube.

Your choice
Use Cookie settings to allow or refuse players and analytics separately, and change your mind whenever you like. Turning players off closes any player that is open. Cookies and other data a service has already stored stay until you clear them in your browser. Turning analytics off deletes its two codes from your browser straight away.
Spam checks
When you reveal Suvo’s email address, ask for a verification code or send the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person rather than a bot. Nothing loads from Cloudflare before you do one of these. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy policy.
