Bill Borden is Corporate Vice President of Worldwide Financial Services at Microsoft, where he leads the company's global strategy for banking, capital markets and insurance customers as they transform digitally. He joined Microsoft after more than 20 years in senior leadership roles at some of the largest US banks, including Bank of America and Citigroup. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He serves on corporate boards and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, the membership organisation for the development of global Black leaders. He sees AI moving from hype to practical impact in finance, and argues that lasting advantage will come from how institutions use data, personalise services and innovate at speed.
