Arvind Krishna is Chairman and CEO of IBM. Over more than 30 years at the company he has built new markets in AI, cloud, quantum computing and blockchain, and drove the $34 billion acquisition of Red Hat, the largest software acquisition, which defined the hybrid cloud market. As senior vice president of cloud and cognitive software he pioneered IBM's hybrid cloud business, and he previously headed IBM Research and founded IBM's security software business. In 2016 Wired named him one of 25 geniuses creating the future of business for his foundational work on blockchain. He sits on the boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Northrop Grumman and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum. He holds an undergraduate degree from IIT Kanpur and a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and grows roses in his garden.
