Amish Tripathi is the fastest-selling author in Indian publishing history, a broadcaster, a former banker and a former diplomat. He has written 11 books, fiction and non-fiction, in 14 years, beginning with the Shiva trilogy; they have sold more than 7 million copies and been translated into 20 languages. A mathematics graduate with an MBA from IIM Calcutta, he spent 14 years in senior roles in banking and insurance, including at Standard Chartered, before writing full time. He served as Minister for Culture and Education at the High Commission of India in the UK and director of the Nehru Centre in London. Forbes India ranks him among India's 100 most influential celebrities, and he received the Dwarka Prasad Agarwal award at the Jaipur Literature Festival in 2024. He hosts television shows and the series Immortal India with Amish.
